Summer Vacation is here!!!Now I have entire days free, which means I'll probably post more often (if I get enough ideas, that is)!
Yay for summer!
Except for mosquitoes and the hotness and that kind of stuff.
I'm going to miss everyone at school...

BOOHOO!
I have sad news.
Betty Fox, who was the mother of Terry Fox, died today. Sadness. :(
Terry Fox was a Canadian cancer patient who started on a journey running across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He started on the East Coast of Canada, at the shore of St. John's, Newfoundland, and was planning to run all the way to the West Coast. Unfortunately he died in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
However we still celebrate his legacy today, and every year many people and organizations (including our school) hold a Terry Fox Run in his honour. People are still raising a lot of money every day to help fund cancer research.

Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Fox to read about Terry Fox.
Go to http://www.terryfox.org/ to see the Terry Fox Foundation website and see events that are being held, as well as news related to Terry Fox.
Long live Terry Fox!

National Doughnut Day
Today is NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY!!! Unfortunately it's only an official holiday in the US (boohoo!). I envy all of you Americans (well, technically I am too since I live in the continent of America... but you know what I mean). Still, I heard it on a radio station here in Calgary, so we might as well celebrate it too.
There's actually a Wikipedia article on this...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Doughnut_Day
...Where it says that many US stores offer free doughnuts on this day. LUCKY!!!
