The Calgary Stampede, the 'greatest outdoor show on earth' (while West Edmonton Mall is the 'greatest indoor show on earth'), ends today! Every year it runs from July 8 to July 17.
The Calgary Stampede is a world-famous 'volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes western heritage and values'. Basically it's a ten-day event with lots of farm animals, pancakes, and cowboy hats.
This year, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine Middleton and Prince William) came on July 8 to officially start this year's annual Stampede Parade!

Wild Alberta Expo
Last Saturday our class represented our school in an expo hosted by the AWA (Alberta Widerness Association) at the base of the Calgary Tower. In total we raised about $300 I believe. We also sponsored four of my classmates to race in a Tower Climb. To see the race results go to http://climbforwilderness.ca/results.asp#runners.
The amazing thing is (well two amazing things)
1) We were the only school that participated
2) We won the overall prize for the best expo display!!
About a month ago four of us and our teacher plus her daughter went to a Calgary Tower Mural Painting Competition. Below are links to see our Mural.

A Cute Fish Game
If you have scrolled to the very bottom of my blog lately, you will have noticed I have added a new gadget (made by http://abowman.com/) called A Cute Fish Game (although it's not much of a game). The fishies will swim toward your mouse in hope of some food. Drop fish flakes by clicking anywhere on the 'game'. It's so cute! Comment here if you like/dislike it.
