Make The Jello Jiggle!

http://www.jellotime.com/
The only thing you do here is wave your mouse around a large, animated, red piece of awesome-looking Jell-O to make it jiggle.
Silly, boring fun.

Pancake Creations

Hi there! I was looking for a pancake picture to put in my post 'How to Make Pancakes!' on Google, and I came across a lot of creative pancakes. So here they are!

This one's pretty easy to make.

Mini pancakes!
ROARRR!!!

Looks like my previous profile picture!
TOO COOL!!!

Whoa!
Made by the same guy that did the giraffe one.
Santa!

Cool!
Mickey Mouse pancakes! I have eaten one of these - they're not hard to make.
Not exactly a creative creation, but still cool, right???

AWW!!! I just had to put that in.

National Ice Cream Day/Month

Today is National Ice Cream Day for the USA!!! Apparently it's on every third Sunday of July.
And July is National Ice Cream Month!!!
Yay!
To see fun facts, and more about Ice Cream Day, read this fun article:
http://www.myplainview.com/news/article_c0e5a72e-b00a-11e0-9666-001cc4c002e0.html
And be sure to eat some!
I ate a soy-milk ice cream today. It tasted even better than actual ice cream, in my opinion.
Soy-milk tastes good as pretty much anything. Did you know they also make soy yogurt? It's called soygurt. Or soyogurt. Or yofu. Pretty funky names!

How to Make Pancakes

Since the Calgary Stampede ended today, I've decided to write a post about Cowboy Breakfasts, which are the most popular kind of meal at the Stampede (there are free Cowboy Breakfasts everywhere right now). But I'm writing one on making pancakes first, because that's one of the most important parts. Of course, you could just do it the easy way and buy pancake mix, but if you want it homemade, I got this recipe off http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/good-old-fashioned-pancakes/detail.aspx. It's a recipe for a plain, ordinary pancake: the kind we eat at Stampede.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

  • 1 1/4 cups milk

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • Directions:
    1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

The good thing is that you don't have to be exact at all with pancakes. So it doesn't really matter if you accidentally pour in a bit too much flour, or use 2 tablespoons of butter instead of 3.
And it doesn't really matter how to cook the thing, as long as the result looks more or less like this.

    National Doughnut Day

Today is NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY!!! Unfortunately it's only an official holiday in the US (boohoo!). I envy all of you Americans (well, technically I am too since I live in the continent of America... but you know what I mean). Still, I heard it on a radio station here in Calgary, so we might as well celebrate it too.
There's actually a Wikipedia article on this...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Doughnut_Day
...Where it says that many US stores offer free doughnuts on this day. LUCKY!!!

    D Dutchmen Dairy

The D Dutchmen Dairy has the best ice cream in the world (according to me). It's very inexpensive compared to other ice cream places. And the scoops are gigantic! Usually one is enough.
It's located in Sicamous, British Columbia.

    369 Shanghai Palace

This is the best restaurant I visited on my trip!!! It's a Chinese restaurant (sort of obvious) in Anaheim (which is where Disneyland is actually located - for some reason I thought it was in LA - anyways...) that is both the best-tasting and authentic Chinese food I've ever eaten. Although I have eaten at other Chinese restaurants with tasty food as well, this didn't make me feel sick like most other restaurants do. And it has such amazing food!!! I ate there two times and still enjoyed it very much. If you ever go to Anaheim, YOU MUST PAY THIS RESTAURANT A VISIT!

    Yogurtland!

Believe it or not, there actually is a Yogurtland! It is a chain store/restaurant that sells frozen yogurt in so many flavours you can sample that you'll be pretty much full before you buy anything! Most of the stores are in USA (sad) so I visited the stores multiple times. It is so awesome! And the yogurt is very inexpensive so it is a good deal too. I like their Plain Tart Yogurt the best. It's not really plain at all! And also there are toppings (gummy bears, berries, sprinkles, etc.) that you can add to your yogurt. The crushed graham crackers taste amazing with any yogurt flavour. The yogurt is payed by the weight. Visit yogurt-land.com for more details.

    Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month (at least in Canada)! Remember to eat well all the time, though, not just in March! So try cooking your own food (try not to use oil so much - and if you have to, try olive oil) and use organic ingredients. Visit http://meghantelpnerblog.com/ for healthy recipes that are also very yummy. And visit http://www.dietitians.ca/Your-Health/Nutrition-Month.aspx for more info on Nutrition Month with some other good links.
