- Hi there! I love polka dots, jelly, and Greek mythology. And I would like to add that A Midsummer's Night Dream is the best play ever written. That is all.

Primes and Composites Song Lyrics
Here are the afore-mentioned lyrics of the math song I made!
The first verse starts at "hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister..."
Primes and composites
They are the opposites
All the primes have two factors
One and itself
That's about it
Composites are
A bit more complicated
They have three to infinite
Factors
Do you like it? I reccomend using karaoke music of Hey Soul Sister if you want to see along. I wonder if I should add more onto it.

A Cute Fish Game
If you have scrolled to the very bottom of my blog lately, you will have noticed I have added a new gadget (made by http://abowman.com/) called A Cute Fish Game (although it's not much of a game). The fishies will swim toward your mouse in hope of some food. Drop fish flakes by clicking anywhere on the 'game'. It's so cute! Comment here if you like/dislike it.

Math song
I created a math song, which is about primes and composites, and is to the tune of Hey Soul Sister. Or at least part of it. I will post the lyrics here soon and you will also be able to see the music video soon too on Youtube. My username is Wektlwik.

Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month (at least in Canada)! Remember to eat well all the time, though, not just in March! So try cooking your own food (try not to use oil so much - and if you have to, try olive oil) and use organic ingredients. Visit http://meghantelpnerblog.com/ for healthy recipes that are also very yummy. And visit http://www.dietitians.ca/Your-Health/Nutrition-Month.aspx for more info on Nutrition Month with some other good links.

Super Perigee Moon!
Did you know that a few days ago (March 19 I think) the moon looked 14% bigger than usual? It's called a Super Perigee Moon, and it was the first one since 20 years or so! The normal moon is apparently called Apogee. Unfortunately the day the moon was coming out it was foggy so I didn't see the moon at all! So sad. It was supposedly going to look red, and it did! Look: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/image_feature_1900.html
Isn't that a great picture?
To see more info about the moon, click the link below:

I wonder when the next one will be.

NHL
To see the NHL Standings, go to http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm
In the Eastern Conference, the cut-off is between Buffalo (in the playoffs) and Carolina (not in the playoffs).
In the Western Conference, the cut-off line is between Anaheim and Dallas. The Calgary Flames are right behind Dallas! :( They are in 10th place. But the Flames have been doing really well lately. The best I've seen them do since I came here (about 6 years or so), I think.
I can't believe Vancouver is first in the Western Conference (even before Detroit and Chicago and San Jose)! And Philadelphia is first in the Eastern Conference. Whoa!
PS. I'm not obsessed with hockey, so if you find any mistakes in here, please tell me by commenting! And the standings shown here are for today (March 22), so they won't be always accurate.
PPS. NHL stands for National Hockey League, for anyone who doesn't know what it stands for (is that possible?)

Spring!
Yay! Today is the Spring Equinox! Well, at least for us Canadians. I'm not really sure about other places. Today was unusually warm, too. Although Calgary's weather changes so fast that you can never be sure.
Photos Of California
My aunt and uncle's awesome pictures.
A sculpture in LA downtown/plaza

Travel
I'm going to California (mostly the LA area) during CBE (the school board that I'm in) spring break (March 26 to April 4)! I love traveling, especially to fun, interesting and beautiful places. My aunt and uncle have gone there before and they reccomended some places to visit. I'm looking forward to going there and, using their reccomendations and my own, I came up with the following places to visit:
- Disneyland (OK, that's a given for any kid)
- Sea World (My aunt says there's lots of people and is pretty busy)
- Honda Center (stadium for the NHL team Anaheim Ducks)
- Walt Disney Concert Hall (Designed by Frank Gehry!)
- Getty Center (awesome architectual design!)
- Salk Institute (just to see the architecture)
- Hearst Castle (Very pretty)
- Old Town San Diego (sounds strange for some reason)
- San Diego Beach (the sand is super smooth!)
- San Diego Downtown
- Hollywood (well, duh.)
- Beverly Hills (see above)
- Universal Studios (I hear they even have rides in there!)
- LA Downtown Plaza (some cool sculpture thingies and buildings)
- Biggest fig tree (I'm not sure where it is, but I saw the picture my aunt and uncle took and it was GIGANTIC. I'll post the location on here as soon as I find out)
Update on the Update
Here is a reminder that although I have made Good and Bad labels, they are my opinion and you might think differently than I about the stuff I've listed here. So it's still best to look through the games yourself and decide what you like.
