Hi there! I love polka dots, jelly, and Greek mythology. And I would like to add that A Midsummer's Night Dream is the best play ever written. That is all.

Pancake Creations

Hi there! I was looking for a pancake picture to put in my post 'How to Make Pancakes!' on Google, and I came across a lot of creative pancakes. So here they are!

This one's pretty easy to make.

Mini pancakes!
ROARRR!!!

Looks like my previous profile picture!
TOO COOL!!!

Whoa!
Made by the same guy that did the giraffe one.
Santa!

Cool!
Mickey Mouse pancakes! I have eaten one of these - they're not hard to make.
Not exactly a creative creation, but still cool, right???

AWW!!! I just had to put that in.

National Ice Cream Day/Month

Today is National Ice Cream Day for the USA!!! Apparently it's on every third Sunday of July.
And July is National Ice Cream Month!!!
Yay!
To see fun facts, and more about Ice Cream Day, read this fun article:

And be sure to eat some!
I ate a soy-milk ice cream today. It tasted even better than actual ice cream, in my opinion.
Soy-milk tastes good as pretty much anything. Did you know they also make soy yogurt? It's called soygurt. Or soyogurt. Or yofu. Pretty funky names!

How to Make Pancakes

Since the Calgary Stampede ended today, I've decided to write a post about Cowboy Breakfasts, which are the most popular kind of meal at the Stampede (there are free Cowboy Breakfasts everywhere right now). But I'm writing one on making pancakes first, because that's one of the most important parts. Of course, you could just do it the easy way and buy pancake mix, but if you want it homemade, I got this recipe off http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/good-old-fashioned-pancakes/detail.aspx. It's a recipe for a plain, ordinary pancake: the kind we eat at Stampede.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

  • 1 1/4 cups milk

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • Directions:
    1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

The good thing is that you don't have to be exact at all with pancakes. So it doesn't really matter if you accidentally pour in a bit too much flour, or use 2 tablespoons of butter instead of 3.
And it doesn't really matter how to cook the thing, as long as the result looks more or less like this.

    YAHOO!

The Calgary Stampede, the 'greatest outdoor show on earth' (while West Edmonton Mall is the 'greatest indoor show on earth'), ends today! Every year it runs from July 8 to July 17.
The Calgary Stampede is a world-famous 'volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes western heritage and values'. Basically it's a ten-day event with lots of farm animals, pancakes, and cowboy hats.
This year, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine Middleton and Prince William) came on July 8 to officially start this year's annual Stampede Parade!
